The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Experiences One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options following member complaints.
